Over the summer, video game studios announced new titles in their franchises despite the cancellation of E3.
June was almost like Christmas for gamers, thanks to E3 and the series of announcements that developers made during this period. This year, after the cancellation of the most important fair in the sector, studios decided to carry out their own presentation events for the rest of the year and these are some of the most important ones.
Summer in gaming is characterized by being one of the two periods with the most announcements by video game creators and although there won't be too many releases during these months, there are some that excite players.
PlayStation players can enjoy Concord and Astro Bot, which will be released on August 23 and September 6, respectively, while Nintendo Switch owners can purchase The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, the first game to feature Zelda as its protagonist, on September 26.
There will also be some important releases in the last quarter of the year. Among the presentations made by Sony, the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 stands out, which will be released on October 8, as well as Alien: Rogue Incursion, the remake of Until Dawn and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, for which there is still no confirmed date, but it is known that they will be released this year.
On the other hand, Xbox also made a series of important announcements at its Showcase and although many will be available on several platforms, such as PlayStation 4 and 5 or PC, we listed them among the Xbox announcements.
Nintendo also announced its portfolio for the end of the year, with the most notable offerings including Mario Party Jamboree, which will be released on October 17; Mario & Luigi: Brotherly Connection, available on November 7; and Dragon Quest HD-2D-Remake, which will be released on November 14.
While 2024 will close with important franchises in the gaming world, 2025 also has a significant offer of announcements that will arrive throughout the year. For example, Xbox announced Doom: The Dark Ages, Fable, a prequel to Gears of War, while Annapurna already showed the first trailer for Mixtape.
Nintendo, on the other hand, also announced a lineup of games even though it said it will launch its next console sometime in 2025. Among the most relevant games for this year are Metroid Prime 4, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and Mio. Memories in Orbit.
